There are a lot of reasons I love living in California, but chief among them is being in a place where I feel so connected to the food I eat. That's why I love Brite Creek Farms. I met owner Jay Shipman more than a decade ago when he was still selling his beef (then under the J&J Grassfed Beef moniker) at farmers' markets around Los Angeles, and found we shared a passion for healthy, humanely raised meats, and food that connected the community. In 2017 Jay and his wife Hannah bought a farm in Tehachapi and together have grown it to become a remarkable hub for thoughtfully grown food and community.
